Feather Facelift

A feather facelift more commonly known in the medical field as suture suspension facelift, and is considered to be a form of cosmetic surgery. This type of cosmetic surgery is said to be safer because it is less invasive than other forms of facelift surgery. With a feather facelift it is still possible for the client to accomplish the youthful look that they are seeking, it is less painful, this particular procedure provides less chance of scarring, and offers the client a speedy recovery. The downside to it is - it is only capable of correcting those clients with mild or moderate sagging.

Understanding The Procedure

Before doing the surgery the surgeon will mark the areas with a marker that need to be lifted. Anesthesia is then injected through the areas where threads will be placed into the skin. When lifting the eyebrow area, forehead, jowls, and cheeks a thread is generally put along the hairline. In most cases, if the client in getting something like a neck lift the threads will be placed behind the ears to conceal any possible scarring.

The entire procedure takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Once the threads have been placed properly, they are clipped and allow to slip right below the skins surface. The area where the threads were originally inserted has to be taped, to keep the threads from popping back above the skins surface.

Risks and Side Effects

There is no such thing as a surgery without possible side effects. The same principle applies to the feather facelift surgery. Some of the possible complication and/or side effects are as follows: a risk of excess bleeding, although this very rarely happens a risk of the client getting an infection, in most cases scarring will fade, however there maybe a chance a permanent scarring.

Some of the other risks that the patient may encounter is asymmetrical results, although every effort is taken to avoid this, a chance of the threading slipping may occur. Depending on the area being operated on there is a chance that the patient may notice a change in the sensitivity in that particular area.

The Benefits

A few of the most popular benefits and reason that this procedure is growing in popularity is as follows; the process has very little discomfort associated with, there is little to no scarring, it requires no general anesthesia whatsoever, there is very little down time after having the procedure done.

It is recommended by cosmetic surgeons in general that a patient be in good physical and psychological condition before attempting to have the procedure done.
